Sorry to say, but I wouldn't pick up any of the above books - they sound like just more 2008 blahblah wishful thinking about this bright new post-hierarchical world where the authors aren't out there scrapping for a living.

So IF the book is about (I hope it is) how two years ago we could say we = the masses = collaboration and that's super, now we can say we = worn out masses because the party got too big and sloppy and globby = getting somewhere but inefficiently, THEN we need some new ground rules. Starting point: collaboration on a more human scale that makes Innovation, Collaboration, Self Organization, Transparency, Sharing, Interdependence and Integrity manageable. Suggested title: We, the mini-masses.

Hello, Mr. Tapscott, how are you?

My name is Rafael Cabral, a journalist working for the brazilian newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo. I would like to know if we can set an interview, for a profile piece to be published in our print edition.

Best,

Rafael

In case this was missed before since it was posted as a reply and not a new comment:

(in response to Don's last post):

Don,

Thanks so much, however I can't take the credit. The first to come up with the Macrowikinomics idea in this thread was Eryc Branham (erycbranham). I think I was one of the first to state that it was a good idea and I did so in a response to one of your comments that came before Eryc's in this thread so that's why it may have looked like I was the first to mention it (plus, I used it in subsequent suggestions when the subtitle was being discussed). I wish I did!

Great idea Eryc and great overall title for the book. I can't wait until this one comes out. A book concept like this is really needed now, especially after the latest Supreme Court decision that will further reduce the power of citizens to make a difference (in the US at least).

Good luck!

Just to reiterate:

We have a winner!!! The book is really about Wikinomics being applied to the macro world -- to many institutions in society like the news paper, the university, government, our systems for global problem solving, energy, transportation, the financial system, the corporation, the workplace, democracy.

Sooooo the title of the new book is:

MACROWIKINOMICS: Rebooting Business and the World

Many thanks to Rob Caldera, who was first to raise Macrowikinomics in this discussion!

The book store chains and distributors and our publisher are "ecstatic" about the book and the title. We want it to me #1 on the NYT Non-fiction list and to be used everywhere to change the world. it's time -- the world is broken and we need to reinvent much of it. Stay tuned.

Guess 'Manifesto' does sound a little 19th Century! Well, every era had ideas that get recycled when the time is right. Perhaps the old publishing industry's still not going to go for a manifesto through.

So many alternatives, each with their own +'s and -'s. 'Paradigm's not inclusive enough a term, yet represents the shift needed. 'Manifesto's too Marxist for a business publishing imprint. 'Guidebook's soft and palatable enough, yet not too appropriate when talking about something that needs to be done rather than what has already been done...

One of the challenges, Don, about crowdsourcing suggestions is that it must get mighty difficult to make choices when you have that many more choices available! Well done on making one anyway.
